Who has done a 5 speed conversion on their car.I have a 75 vert with the stock 4 speed and want to change to the 5 speed. Will a T-5 Borg Warner out of a camero or firebird work in my car?I know I will have to cut out the currently welded cross member.I have located this trans for $500 What do you guys think? What else will I have to do for this swap.
This type of conversion has been just about beaten to death. There are many many posts on this over the past few years. You are a member for 3 years and certainly must have seen alot of the posts?

Yes you are right about that but at the time I was not interested in converting my car and did not pay close attention to what was needed to make the swap.I now would like to do this.I tried to do a search to find what was needed but could not get it to work.Thank You.

feel free to email me. I have done this conversion and would hate to "touch on" a subject already discussed here...geeeez
My Keisler conversion was $3500.... I don't regret a penny of it, but that's a FAAAR cry from $500. Unfortunately, since I did a Tremec, I can't help WRT a T-5
Saving money is a good thing, but be careful when comparing price to value.
A Keisler kit has all new parts, does not hurt the value of your car (increases it actually), does not waste your time and does not nickel and dime you to death tracking down or fabricating parts.
You buy it, install it and drive it. Everything is new and everything fits.
