I have a 73 (350 SB) and want to replace the fuel pump. I've not done this before, but I learn quickly. Does anyone have some easy to follow procedures, cautions, etc. that I might use for this procedure. Thanks in advance.

the fuel pump rod can be held in place by removing the small bolt in front of the engine pass side just in front of the fuel pump and replacing it with a longer one tightened finger tight... you can get at one of the fuel pump bolts through the tire well with a long extension, its the easiest way.....good luck its not technicaly hard just messy and a PITA
The bolt way is ez, but mine is eaiser...first go to TDC (gives you more room for the rod to be pushed back), then just take out the pump. I would replace the short 'S' fuel hoses (get them from a corvette supplier), if not put a bolt in or use a vise grip (not to tight). Once out, get a hacksaw blade and put it in front of the rod, now just use the blade as a shoe horn, just follow the pump plunger down, then pull the blade out...
