This is a question for all you guys with the new dynosim or desktopdyno software. Basically I just need to know if the software is worth it and if its easy enough to use. I have dyno2000, but it doesn't seem that accurate and I don't know how to get the cylinder heads to be something similar to what the stock heads would be. Other problem I had with it was the exhaust was just a simple headers with mufflers or not, had no way to put in size of headers or compare mufflers or anything. Bottom line I'm just curious if anyone has any feed back on the new programs.

This type of software is only as accurate as the info you give it. I have Engine Analyzer and it is better and more complex than DD but you have to give it the correct info or the results are no good. How many know how many CFM there exhaust flows ? Not many and you get BS numbers from the manufacturers anyway so it would be difficult and expensive to come up with s/w that you could plug in say Borla 3 in mufflers, 3 in pipes and Hooker headers, DD has to give a ballpark estimation of this that is why there is only about 5 choices, with mufflers without etc.

I have the new DynoSim software.....it has more choices than D-2000, and allows you to be more accurate with your combinations......it has a 146 pg. manual (pdf format) that details cams, induction, head flow, exhaust, etc......I input a known combo (my own dynoed 383) to test the program's accuracy (DynoSim claims within 5% of a real dyno).....its number came up THE SAME as my actual dyno peak--470 HP @ 5700 RPM. So, from my experience, I can highly recommend it.....just be sure to ACCURATELY input the correct data.
