...shipped 5 of my Redline tires off of my Silver '68 to NJ back in April/early May through UPS. I taped them together(two pairs + a single)very well and tight. Got a bill yesterday from UPS for $10 saying ".....improper shipment, not encased in cardboard." I just went ahead and paid it, tired of messing with shippers.

You should see what THEY do to T-Tops shipped in wooden crates....
These are the same clowns that delivered my steering column and didn't get a signature.
On another occasion I rang them about an overseas shipment and they had lost it. The person on the phone had all thr tracing info but had lost it. They told me to go back to where I sent it (Office Depot) and get them to trace it. Now if UPS does not know where it is why would Office Depot find out more then UPS??????
Paul, I just got tires shipped by some (DTL??) or something like that. Anyway the shipper wrapped them in garbage bags and duct tape. They brought the tires to my office on my day off so, they brought them to my home. I have no idea how they even knew where I lived. But, they went the extra distance. I wish I knew the name of the company, I would highly recommend them (3 letters and it's not UPS) See ya at Cincy? !
From: Manchester, Dead Center in the Middle of TN 25 miles to Jack Daniels,10 miles to Geo Dickle, and .8 mile from the Liquor Store at I-24 Exit 114

I just shipped a Monte Carlo SS Speedometer / Tach and gage cluster with only 583 miles on it. It looked NOS. It went to an E-bay Auction winner. When it got there all that was salvageable was the speedometer, tach and gages, the UPS Gorilla crushed the plastic housing and bezel that did not have a scratch on it anywhere.

Discount Tire shipped me four Continentals via UPS and they came taped together in two's. 4 pieces of tape/plastic wrap...that's all. The driver looked like a tire monkey coming up the front walk.
Yea I just recieved my new wheels a couple days ago from UPS and one of them has a flat spot on the edge of the rim from where someone dropped the box.
