Default Cooling Data for 502 Ramjet

I was a bit worried about cooling the big 502 in the CanAm project.

I've now tested it twice with the same positive results.

Start in 90deg/90+humidity idling at 950 rpm for just under 5 minutes and the engine reaches 190F where it goes closed loop an drops the idle to 800rpm. Reving the engine at 1500rpm it climbs Slowly to 220. kick the SPAL 16 inch fan and it drops to 190 and slowly cools to about 180.

50/50 dexicool $28
Jegs 19x31 aluminum radiatior $169
AC delco RC26 $8
Spal 16 inch pusher fan 2350 CFM mounted 3/16" from the core $199

Sound of the Big Block with header sidepipes idling in the driveway... Priceless

Being able to let it warm up to 220 and then bring it down to the 180 is a good cooling system. You will have no problems.

205 F @75MPH steady state

No airdam yet or baffels/seals around the rad !!

I'd expect about 195 with a 190 stat for the EFI when all is said and done.
