I wouldn't, as I'd be the one driving home in a classic car that'll be worth more tomorrow than it is today. Can't say that about a Mustang or a Lightning.
And...why is losing a race embarrassing? Losing a chick to a guy with a bigger ******* is embarrassing. Crapping your pants in public is embarassing. Farting loudly in a crowded elevator is embarrassing.
I think I may be at the wrong forum is this the forum for muststangs I don't know about everyone else here, but I drive a C3 Corvette, and it is the coolest thing that has ever rolled out of an American factory
I can't belive that we are comparing a muststang to a Corvette, by the the vette
Last summer I sold my VERY nice 88 mustang GT 5.0 for a new AR Racing 440hp stroker motor for my 76 vette....I liked my 88 5.0 and it was real quick, but it didn't provide much thrill compared to the vette.....Even a nearly stock (230 ish hp) vette is more fun to drive than a 400 hp 5.0. You just see them everywhere, and they feel like a Taurus with a V8!!!!

I hear ya. I'd love to own some Mustangs, other generations of Corvettes, and a lot of other "bad to the bone" rides. IMHO, though, none of them beat our C3s in the cool factor.
I dont know about you guys but i think the C3 corvette is the sexiest production car ever made and for you guys to even be rationally debating this topic is insane. I would choose the vette hands down.
you sold your perfect GN for $19k and are going to buy a crapbox vette or mustang that will need work for 10-14K. Something does not compute. You are going to have less money to spend on the family not more.
P.S. are you a good mechanic? If not the vette will send you to the poor house in short order. If you are a good mechanic you will be constantly working on it taking time away from your family.
again

I like all types of cars owned over 20 no BS. I have a 79 vette now, weekend car. I'm car sitting a friends 97 Cobra Vert and its fun to drive w/the top down. True the vette is not a family ride but when I'm driving the Cobra no one waves or says nice car or what year is it.
The moral of my story is a mustang vert is just another little vert dring around town. But a vette is a vette.
It you decide to go w/a stang buy a new model a lease they look cool again.
