Default 1979 L-82 Corvette

Hello. I need help in understanding the value of my terminally-ill father's Corvette. Currently, it is sitting in the garage and not running. The engine(original) and transmission were taken out because my father had planned to insert a hot motor. He never got around to doing it, so it remains stock. Everything is origianl as far as I know. It has some minor wera/scratches in the front fender area and the interior could use a little work. Here's my question: how much is a Vette like this worth? I hope to have pics here soon for everyone to see as it can make it easier for one to quote. Even a ball park figure would be great.
Thank you.

You might want to try the C3 section of the forum. You will find a lot more people with knowledge of that year Vette in there.

Good luck!

Wrong forum but having said that. I just sold a 78 Pace Car. My suggestion is keep it stock. Then, search some of the vendors to get an idea of what is selling for what. Also- Bob Kroupa- at Vette Fever will give you an free honest appraisal.

In it's current state it is worth in the neighborhood of $3,000.

I agree with the $3,000 figure based on your description. There are a lot of unknowns. If you wanted the car just for something to fix up and put back on the street it would be a fun project... maybe not even too expensive. If you wanted it to sell and make some $$$, you're probably not going to make a whole lot.

I have a 79 L82. I am in the process of restoring, If you are going to sell the car please let me know?
Is the car a automatic? How many miles? Can you find out if the antenna bezel is a black plastic insert? I just wanting to determine if its a early or late year 79.
Thanks

You could go as high as $5k, if someone used to have one just like it, sold it, and really want one like it again.
