Cowl-back body removal question
Does anyone have a ballpark on what the body section weighs from the cowl back (doors attached, etc.)? Also, with the front end already removed, what is the -easiest- way to remove the rest of the body? I was thinking of eventually getting one of those lifts they advertise in the 'vette parts books, but it looks like it's designed to be used with the front clip attached?
The standard lifting harness should lift it OK with the front clip detatched.
However, it will definitely be 'tippy' toward the rear.
If you place another strap or rope to the rear to keep it
from tipping, I think you will be fine. The rear clip - totally
stripped of everything is a few hundred pounds. Doors, seats,
steering column, etc are all pretty heavy. Looks like your
seats are out in the avatar. Leaving the doors will help to keep
the front balanced in weight.

I removed mine without the front clip, using the "Sling" and an engine hoist. I was really pretty balanced, I didn't have any issues.
Just be slow and keep checking underneath for things to clear.

To clear the engine, you'll need close to 3 feet of lift.
