Default Repairing a sport mirror

So I got me a drivers side sport mirror, but the mechanism is fubar. How can I convert it to manual? The morror flops around becase the cables are loose. Is there a way to tighten the cables up? I can probably repair the remote with JB Weld or something, but that won't help the cables. I can't find a replacement set of cables, either. Any and all ideas or instructions, suggestions, etc. welcome!

I didn't put this under tech/performance 'cause it just didn't seem to fit there.

Mine have a spring at the control handle in the car that holds the tension for the mirror. Maybe your spring is broke.
