Challenge/Challenge Stradale? Sweet. I really don't like the new 430's styling but the 360 was great.

The funny thing is, both the C5 and that Ferrari were designed for high speed or road coarse type environments. Very impressive that they're still so competitive on "mini-tracks"

Just for info, these two guys run on road race tracks.. Let me add this...this "mimi" track has seen some mid 4th gear at 115 mph..(my buddies 360), but not this weekends layout,however...
When I ran my 78 here in the eighties we had some 100+ plus on straights...guess back east they run Walmart tracks...

Edit..My buddies son, Jeff Kiesel, is the National Solo points leader in his class (P1/BP). He runs a Mazada RX7 with 500 Hp at rear wheels...look it up...he will be at the finals in Topeka in Sept...talked to him yesterday at our "mini" track...he has run on some road courses,as well, with his dad....

I do miss Kansas autoX, but I really haven't given Tarheel Sports Car Club a chance I've been so busy this year. Will have to do some once I'm in Charlotte (UNC).

CruiseIn6 was fun but they desperately needed a bigger parkinglot. That was NOT a Corvette-friendly autocross! (sub-30 sec.) Fun either way, first time I'd raced in over a year.

From what I hear nationals tracks are pretty huge. 115? How fast before it gets declared a speed event!

Truth is.I don't know...Our club events were not checked by anyone for speed..but they(event sponsor) always sent a "hot dog" out to test the track for safety reasons....The nationals are probably done the same way,but I will ask and get an answer...we had to purchase insurance for each event, and have all participants/spectators sign a waiver...

Wow that is a huge lot, when we run at Phoenix Int. raceway, we combine 3 parking lots and still don't have that much room...

How did your 78 do time wise??

Man do I ever miss doing that! I was NCCC Regional Champion (Fla) Groupe III-MA two years straight (1981-1982) with my 1966 427 4 spd Vette "Love Is Blue". I also ran at Daytona Speedway during the NCCC convention back in the 80's. Loved charging into those corners and power sliding thru them! Good memories.

Default $12,000 Trophy

Oh Yeah! I've got a few of those collecting dust in my garage still. I've often thought it would have been a lot cheaper to buy a trophy shop and make all mine. Probably would have, but oh, you can't fake that feel going into those turns wide open !!!
