just was wondering how many have a trip meter that will not reset, or very hard to reset?- these cable driven resets were used on 1963 thru 1977 corvettes thanks carl------------------
My rubber **** was also bad so I replaced it with a brass one I made myself. I also used WD40 and really sprayed up the stem alot. It now works smooth and easy.
Mine is stuck and will not push in anymore. Not sure when this started as it did work at one time for me. Since I dont use it I have not bothered to fix it.
Mine is hard to operate and the little rubber cap fell off in my hands last time I tried. I will try lubing it up, how do you get to it to oil it?
I'd like to have it to gauge mileage or how far I have gone so I can fill up without running out of gas. The fuel gauge works but I don't know "how" emply "E" is.
Works fine now that I removed it from the gauge, cleaned/lubed it, straightened a kink in the sheath, built a bracket to hold the stem, and finally reinstalled it on the gauge. Haven't used it since.

mine won't work either, and if I mess with it, it takes me a while to get the normal odometer to work again. I would sure like to use it for inbetween fillups though. Maybe I'll play with it after I mess with my overheating
One of the reasons I'm changing all my instruments. Big time speedometer and tach needle bounce. Half the gauges in the center console are also on the fritz. Cars this old will have these problems. I'm not ncrs bound so I will have my creature comforts instead of putting up with cranky 30 plus [years] stuff. Trip odometer built right into the autometer speedometer. Plus a change in looks on the dash might be a little more pleasant.
I kinda like the rickety old gauges. They make the nostalic feel of the car more "real" since though I've got lots of other modern modifications to help drivability and comfort. I was kinda sad to let go of the Delco tick-tock clock, but the Quartz conversion was singin so sweetly in my ear... :o

What model number did you get? I went to their web site, but did not see one for c3's?
