Default Assistance Installing Chrome Gill inserts

I am installing these inserts on my 69 coupe and the nuts on rear two inserts are almost impossible to reach down through the wiper access. It looks like I can cut out the filler on the rear gill and reach the nuts to complete the installation. Is this the correct way to install these chrome inserts or do I need a friend with really thin, long arms

Thanks for any suggestions ...

They dont attach with regular nuts and bolts. You use "well nuts", which are basically rubber grommets with a threaded nut on the end. You drill a 3/8" hole in the fender gill area, place the well nut into it then after the gill is in place insert screw and tighten. The nut in the well nut will compress behind the fiber glass and tighten down.

You can get these from Zip or any othe rof the Corvette suppliers.
