This is how mine are. My car is a late 70. I never seen one like yours. That is an long way from back there to click into the front belt.

Thanks for your reply and for posting the pic.

Yeah my seatbelt is mounted differently to yours. I looked in the AIM and as far as I can tell yours is correct and mine seems to be incorrect.

However, who would go changing the mounting place????

Im hoping mine is correct for an early 70 vette....can anyone confirm if mine are correct or incorrect?> (maybe I should start a new thread)

Cheers!

Donnybrooks the pair of single straps matching the interior, I am pretty sure mine are original on my 70.

My T top straps are the same - the two single straps for 70....but I was referring to the seatbelt set up for the retractors in the rear.
I probably should start a new thread so as not to confuse issues. !

Thanks for the photo, measured a 73 at a car show. Tried to find the original holes with an awl. No luck. I used the measurement I got at the show and drilled new hole and put them in. They look OK and work fine. Half the people I talked to st the show had no idea what they were for.

For those members whose tie-down straps had faded from the sun, I think I came up with a solution. I was thinking unable to find a RIT dye color that matched my color (red) so I went to a hobby store and bought "fabric paint" in the correct color. Looks great!

on my 79 the original holes go all the way into the wheel well, you can push a wire up from the bottom. I used an old coat hanger with the end sharpened to point .. one you have one side of the bracket in its pretty easy to find the other with the awl
