Year One - Customer Service?
Anyone have any experience with Year One? I ordered a radiator from them in June. The guy told me 6-8 days. I said that was fine. I called back 14 days later and the guy told me 6-8 weeks. I then called back 6 weeks later and the guy tells me 8-10 weeks! I asked him if he could call the manufacturer to see if they could give me an update or let me know if there was gonna be another delay and he sounded like that was asking too much. 21 Aug will be 8 weeks. Does anyone else have any feedback for Year One? I'm thinking about calling Dewitt's. Another vendor said he could get a brand new aluminum radiator for $495 in 7-10 days.

No experience with them but they are new to the Corvette world and are probably not prepared for this new (to them) market.
I would cancel the order and call DeWitts. Tom will have a perfect radiator at your door in less than a week and the money is about the same.

They only started selling the Corvette lines in April 2005. I have had excllent service out of them in the past on Chevy II's. Of course they are only 1 hour drive down the interstate from me. They started out as the Firebird aftermarket Guru's, then they are trying to cover all aspects of the retro field instead of being an expert. Great guys that I have delt with though. But I agree don't advertise it if you can't sell it then deliver it.

Call them back and tell them your working for Chip Foose. He utilizes "year one" stuff on the Overhaulin show....
But all kidding aside, I would guess like the above post says, it is because they are new to the Vette game, but then again, they've dealt with chevelles etc for a long time now.....

I would call and cancel the order. Call up Tom Dewitt and get a radiator that fits perfect, works perfect and be done with it.

Thanks for all the replies fellas. This was my first order with them and wasn't sure if this is typical or just bad timing. Sometimes there are unpredictable delays, but the last guy I talked to really disappointed me.
I've talked with Dan at VanSteel and had top notch service. Not only from Dan but from all the fellas at VanSteel. I guess I expected the same from Year One. I'm gonna call again tomorrow and see what the story is. If it doesn't improve, I'll call Dewitt's.
Thanks again for the feedback.
