Window Prob...

Thanks, Marc.
You may be able to grab the glass and pull it up and catch some good teeth if there are any left. Mine were all ground down just on the tips, but enough that it wouldn't engage with the motor gear no matter where I pulled the window up to.
I bought the cheaper kit. It consists of a stamped thick gage sheet metal gear that basically is screwed right to the old gear. Its definatley cheap. But it does work. I had to pull my regulator out about 3 times before I got it right. If you dont have it exactly matched up to the old gear, it will bind the motor. (I actually welded it to the original gear when I got it perfect, so I know it will stay put). I figured I'd see how well this fix goes. So far it works great. I greased everything up while I had it apart, and my windows fly up and down now. If this fix doesn't last however, (I was skeptical of the gage of the prostetic gear), I will probably just replace the whole regulator. I think the more expensive repair kit actually has a replacement gear in it, but I believe there was a swaged rivet or something that had to come off to swap the gears. Thats why I didn't go that route. It might just be easier to put in a new regulator, than change the gear out, but Im not sure. Anybody here actually do the kit that swaps the gear?
Good luck.
