Default Need help to select headers and exhaust

I'm looking to buy a set of headers and dual exhaust for my 76. Anyone have any recommendations on what fits well. I'm looking for headers and an exhaust kit so I won't need to have all the pipes bent. I have not found a kit that has a X or H pipe so I guess I'll have to add that. And, of course no cats.

I have the Dynomax headers on my car and am very happy with them. They are easy to install and remove (I have to do this way too often). For the money they are hard to beat.

As far as exhaust goes, some people have had good luck with the Mid-America true dual setup. I would recommend 2.25-2.5" exhaust.

The dual kits from Mid America for the 74-79 has a 2" Manifold. Is this the best kit for use with headers?

Check out what it costs at your local muffler shop for mandrel bent 2.5" pipes. May be cheaper then you think...then you can have that X-pipe welded in as well. That's my plan.

If you can't find a place with a mandrel bender, do not sweat it, as long as the bends aren't too crazy it doesn't make a huge difference.

You would have to modify the kit from Mid-America. A local muffler shop would be able to do it without much hassle

This kit will work, although a little difficult to get in in the crossmember. Would also work better with hooker headers rather than the dynomax. The dynomax have a slight downward angle at the collector. Summit sells this kit for 135.88. search there site for part number HOK-16521HKR
