With 570 HP on street tires you will be able to roast the tires at almost any rpm. You should be able to just stab the throttle while rolling and the ywill break loose. I can burn rubber at by releasing the clutch at about any rpm and just getting into the throttle and working the throttle. You can break parts with only 350HP if you abuse them enough.

Yeah, if you're having trouble getting it to burn out, then I have a feeling that whoever told you the 570HP line was trying to sell you a car...

I doubt I have half the horsepower you do, and I don't have any trouble burning the tires , I release the clutch then punch the accelerator. I like to have the car moving before I spin the tires to avoid damage.

You need to hope that YOU CAN Roast the tires...........it is when you start getting traction is when you start breaking things....IE Half Shafts, Universial Joints, Rear Ends parts. Pray that the tires take the blunt of the power

my auto 320 horser with 3.08 gears had no trouble lighting up the tires with just stabbing the gas..

with 255/60/15 shoes.

Just try a few different techniques till you get it somewhere you like

When I had my 5-speed TKO, I was able to smoke the tires through 3rd gear and would get a chirp when hitting 4th and I only had 465 HP on that engine...
On my current setup, I permanently use the ET Street tires which really limit spin except after exiting the water box at the track

I like to be rolling then stab the throttle to spin the tires as it puts less shock on the drivetrain

well, power is all there exactly 575hp with 550.9 torque at 4.500 rpm dinoed, and i also know how to spin wheels ...the question was actually how to burnout without braking the whole drivetrain (until i get the new shaft and pinion yokes uprated) and i think the answer is to let the car move slightly getting some traction first then floor the gas...i'll try it today

I'd reccomend half shaft, drive shaft saftey loops, and a SFI bell housing if I were going to make a regular habit of roasting the tires....

BTW with 295/50R15's I can lite 'em up in 1,2 or 3 with just modest dose of throttle

As long as the tires spin, the chance of breaking stuff is not too great (even though possible)... It's not power that kills parts, it's traction..

Yeah, the problems only come when you're feeding the old torque monster and the tires decide to bite! Then you're left with this... http://www.countrycorvetteclub.com/?...ts&cmd=v&id=46

yes. traction and shock.

so its a good idea to preload the drive train by letting the clutch out a bit before you go nuts.

Well, if you shock the rear end components and the tires break loose, the chance of breaking stuff isn't all that great.. However, if you are at the track and you try to make a dry burnout past the water box (where they sprayed VHT), you might have a good shot at breaking the rear... At good prepped tracks, the VHT starts just a foot or 2 after the water box.. and you don't want to try to make a burnout without driving through the water box...

Thats great news! I think my gears on my 70 are 3.08 and I have an auto....and I haven't tried a burnout yet (cause I dont want to hurt my baby ...and I just thought with the lower gears I might be dissapointed)...but now Im keen to try

Sorry, but I want to see a dyno sheet on this 574 hp 406. Are just a engine shot. Specs or something. Just saying it doesn't work in this crowd.
