I was in Aruba for a week and I only saw 1 Corvette while on the Island. Realize it is only in the last few years that most locals have had a car and most of the models we have never heard of and have the horsepower of 1 hamster on a Habitrail wheel!
It is also a pretty small island only about 27 miles long. Maybe 15 miles wide at the widest point.
Anyway I saw this Vette of course you see why it caught my eye, although , I could do with out the wing. I checked the vin it was not a real Pace Car, it was a 78 clone. Anyway it was in pretty good shape considering the elements there.
I get owning a vette anywhere, but I wonder how many ricers there were on that island. I took a trip to Sitka Alaska where the roads don’t connect to anything so you can only drive around town, might as well be on an island. I don’t know exactly how many miles of road there are or how many cars there are. My guess would be around 40 or 50 miles of road and maybe 200 car or so. Of the 200 cars there I bet about 25 of them were ricers! The rest are trucks. I mean the ridiculous kind of ricers with the farting exhausts, neon lights, huge wings, and they were all eggs. I just don’t get it. Seriously what’s the point? Especially in a place like that where you cant go anywhere or race (if they do race its the same cars over and over). stupid to me.
