Radio removal

I'm removing the radio on a 79 corvette and need a special tool to unscrew the nuts on the tuning **** and the volume **** . Any body have any special tricks besides needle nose pliers ? Where can I get a tool to unscrew these nuts ?

I used a thin wall deep socket when I removed mine to sent it for repair. I hope if it's the stock radio you are going to keep it.

Yes I'm going to keep it , but the nuts are round with two groves in them . They are not hex nuts. ?

Hmm... we must have different nuts

Try a pair of needle nose pliers that have a 90 degree bend it may help. I can't recall seeing a special tool not to say there isn't, as I'm sure the manufacture had something special. Mine may have been replaced to a more standard radio nut during it's life..?

I used snap ring pliers. By the way the nuts are round.
