Default Labor Day Help - Jacking Points

Have Labor Day everyone.

Wanted to put my vette up on stands today. Started in the back. Someone was nice enough to weld some plates just forward of the rear tires, great jacking point, but I can't place the stands because the floor jack is in the way.

I searched the archive and found suggestions to jack under the rear differential, but I can't get here because of the exhaust pipes. Any other suggestions?

Thanks AVette4Me, but my problem is, once I have the Vette lifted with the floor jack, I have no room to place the jack stands, the floor jack is in it's way, is there any other areas besides in front of the rear tires and the rear differential to lift from?

In the rear, I jack the car a little forward of the shaded area and then place the jackstand. In the front, I use the cross-member to lift.

It's probably not politically correct, but I place my jack just behind the jack stand points and lift it (almost centered)...then place the stands in the proper place..

I've set mine on 4 jackstands, where indicated above, by setting the floorjack near the where the trans crossmember bolts to the frame. Then I jack up that side of the car, both wheels off the ground, high enough to place the stands. Then I do the other side. You could do this in several stages.

And...if your frame can't handle the jacking (e.g. excessive flexing), there are probably more serious issues.
