Default a 400cid SBC question

I think several C3 members here run the 400cid so I'll you all this question - I would like to put one in my 64. Does your 400 SBC have the mounting hole for the clutch cross-shaft ball stud? If so what is your block casting number?

THANKS

Chuck

Mine did not have it, but it was easy to drill one for it. Casting looks like 380817.

Drillling and tapping a hole for the clutch z bar is no big deal I think all he 400 blocks have bosses for that or they are already tapped. There are two places for the clutch pivot ball, on my 817 block the back one was tapped I had to drill and tap the forward one, ten minutes of work

My 511 block is tapped and drilled...but YMMV of course.

Good luck,
Jeff
