I made a trip down to the local wrecking yard today to see if I could
pick up on some odd parts, and I run across a '80 C3. All in all this seems like it was in good shape before it got there, straight frame, solid birdcage, floorpan. it was missing the hood, doors, engine and trans, and some interior parts. but rear end was still there, along with the drive shaft and half shafts and rear spring, looks like the trailing arms were recently done. It looks like it was drug around the yard and now it sits on the top of another car, squished between two others, cracks in the body all over the place. I wish I could have met the guy who had this junked, I would have took it off his hands.. now it will just sit there and rot away. What a waste..
That's a first for me, I've never seen or heard of a vette in a wrecking yard. I've been going to the local yard here for many years and yet to see a vette.
I have seen a few in local boneyards but in every case they have been TOTALY PICKED CLEAN DOWN TO THE BONE. If you do the math it makes sense in some cases.
