Default How to avoid chips on side???

I have recently started driving my 75 after a complete body off rebuild. With about 300 miles on the clock, I have noticed several small chips in the paint on the sides. Every time I drive her, it gets dirty in the same area. I am sure it is coming from the cut-outs in the front fender, which opens up to the front tire. My question is, is there anything to put in the openings to prevent the road debris from hitting the side? My C5 has little flaps of rubber in that area, and seems to stay much cleaner.

Any ideas?

I am contemplating this same problem having just finished restoring my 68 and I heard of some sort of static cling product called NipChips or something like that. Basically it looks like clear plastic static cling that sticks on without any fasteners or glue and can be removed and applied repeatedly. Supposedly they will not blow off at speed. They are sold by some of the aftermarket Corvette catalog houses. They also sell plastic "mud flaps" that are held on by spring clips with no drilling or damage to body and can be removed when you arrive at your destination.
Hope this helps

Corz,
That's the static cling stuff I was talking about. Sounds like it would do the job without making any permanent modifications to the car or paint job.

PS Thanks for their web address: I just went to their site and ordered the kit for my 68 as it was newly painted last month and I don't want any chips just yet.

I also use the clear plastic to protect my paint when I have my vert. top up. The weather stripping in time can damage the rear deck paint. Make sure you use water and follow the directions or in my case the vinyl pieces will fly off. Anyone know where you can get the vinyl uncut. I need just part of a kit and don't want to purchase a complete set for my vert. top. I would also like to make a set to fit my hard top. I know the kits for both are available but would rather make my own and get a better fit. Thanks!
