Looking for a set of roaring big block sidepipes that will fit under my stock covers. Anyone have any recommendations or experience with any kind other than stock replacements? Any to avoid?

A while ago, some guys had some custom pipes bent up, and they said that the largest they could go was something like 3.5 inches in diameter and still fit under the covers. I don't know of any kits other then then the stock size for big blocks. Hopefully they will chime in.

Probably have to be custom made.

Contact JCL sprials. He's a forum member and may know a shop near you who can do the work.

I have no idea why you want loud. I cut mine open to quiet them.
That place does have larger ones and they say they are louder because of it. Larger Id not od. You still have plastic holding the stock covers together so even if a pipe fits it might not if you see what I mean.

I've heard of the sweet thunder ones. I seem to remember someone making chambered midyear style mufflers for c3s too.

Just installed a set of the sweet thunder pipes (2" baffle) last week on my 71. They sound excellent. Got'em in three business days. Fit perfect.
