The antenna wire should fit. You will need to connect left and right, front and back (if you have them) speaker wires to the unit, and as noted above run a power lead to it...
Getting the bezel out to cut it is some work...
I put one in my 73 not too long ago. My center console was alreadyin pretty rough shape so I took out the old radio, cut a rectangle to fit the DIN adaptor I got with the radio. Added several layers of bondo, filler and paint blended it together. Came out okay, looks good from a few feet but I know I can make it look much better. I plan on fixing it upa bit this fall.

I don't know how much money you want to spend but there are DIN style replacement center console's for sale. DIN center console link.
Kind of expensive but if you don't want to cut your original it is an alternative.
