Am I missing the point?

I saw it a week or so ago and was intrigued by it. I wouldn't be afraid to touch it. If I didn't have mine all torn apart in my garage, I'd probably put a bid in on it. Heck, I paid a lot more than that for my 81 and what'd I do .... strip it all down just like this one.
A brand new windshield is $120 (install myself), probaby have not more than a couple grand more at max in it for new seat covers and other misc parts and you'll have a Vette with shiny new paint/interior and nice looking wheels. Windshield frame parts are available from Paragon.
It's not suprising this didn't do well on Ebay. It's not the kind of car that bodes well in an internet auction. It's got too many questions for a sight-unseen sale. Newbie restorers and the average guy that would rather watch TV all night isn't going to even consider it. It all depends on your skill-set, time available, tools and ambition. If you had to pay someone to do the work it isn't worth it. When I see it, I think of the "potential".
