At the risk of insulting someone's purchse, isn't $1500 for this car insane? We regularly see cars that need some work going for $3000 and people have trouble selling them. This one is missing more parts than it has and has cancer of the birdcage for good measure.
I look at what it would cost to make this car whole. You might as well buy a '67 in good condition on the instalment plan. You'll probably end up spending the same.
I dunno, he says all the parts are there except the windshield. A dismantled 81 will part out for $3000-$4000++ and that one is already taken apart. I bet the high bidder throws all the pieces back on ebay right away.
if the buyer could get the car for two grand it would be considered reasonable
I got $450 for my operatable headlight buckets alone on ebay.
If the frame is clean another 600-1200
steering column 200-300
rear end 400-600
. ... .

well you get the idea!! Itemizing these things could allow you to come back on top if you were to part it out.
Good luck repainting it if he chemical stripped the body. It soaks into the fiberglass and can ruin the next paint job put on it.
Is that just an urban legend or true!! someone made a comment like that on another posting a couple of months back, but the outcome of the post, was agreed to not be the case.

We had a 63 split-window that the owner decided he wanted to chemically strip himself. He started with the fire-wall and fender-wells. The stripper destroyed the resin in the fire-wall and fender-well. It cost him a couple of grand to fix the damage. Not saying it can't be done, but major caution is advised.
I chemically stipped and painted mine myself about 17 years ago. Just follow the instructions. To date, I haven't been infected by the plague or eaten by dragons. Ah, the Internet -the source of all truth.

all parts there; not a bad deal if you are near by to pick it all up and resale the parts

You are not the first nor probably the last to have success in chemical stripping. If done right with the correct chemicals, it should not be a problem. I remember stripping my Camareo (steel body) back in the late 70's. Althought it's different than fibergalss, it was very fast. Put it on, wait 10/15 minutes and scraped it off with a plastic putty spreader. Maybe the problem is with cars that have have painted, repainted, and again repainted. They get too much stripper on the car and then wait too long to remove it. It should start of wrinkle in a few minutes.
Maybe if it came with some cool floor mats and some cup holders? SGT Kirk
you forgot to mention fuzzy dice, curb feelers, cb radio, and incense.
seriously, the thing can be parted out with profit, but as pointed out, it is alreay at $1700+ with reserve not met. this car is perhaps over priced as $1700 is probably close to top dollar if you have to pick it up adn peice it out.
