Default Identifying by number. ?

I know almost nothing about the engine in my new -69.
Can this nr., on the block, tell something?
3370010

Only that it is a very common 350 casting #. Mine is the same...though mine is a four-bolt main block.

That's the block casting umer. Gm made millllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llions of them in the 70's and installed them in almost all car lines, not just Corvettes.

You need to look at the stamp pad (on the block directly in front of the right side cylinder head) for the info that help identify if this is your original engine.

there is a pad behind the waterpump on the passenger side of the engine in front of the cylinder head that will give you information regarding the who what where of the engine. the castin number you found, as already pointed out, was the same one used on a lot of GM 350 SB engines. p.s.
the numbers on the pad will be stamped, not cast into the pad

ThanX, I am learning something every day.

Tomorrow I will look for some more numbers.

Now I know, that I have a Q-Jet carb, an Edelbrock performer 2010
intake manifold and a GM 350 block. I have adjusted my steering, and now I will also try some wheel alignment!
Not Bad for a rookie.

Look for a three letter identifier stamped into the number pad. That will tell you the original application for the engine.
