Default gauge cluster issues

im having problems with the gauge cluster

1. i need to get it out of the dash and was wondering if anyone was willing to tell me the easiest way to go about doing this.

2. im having problems with the blinker indicator lights. my blinkers work fine but dont indicate that they are working in the gague cluster ....
the bulbs look good and i chexked then for continuity but donot work when blinkers are turned on.

thanks in advance

You get the cluster out by removing the screws around the clear lens and under the steering column cover plate. GENTLY pull out the air conditioner duct. Pull the two bolts out of the steering column then drop it down a little. Rotate the steering wheel down as far as it will go. Remove the clear lens then take out the rest of the screws holding the front of the cluster in. GENTLY pull the cluster forward and release the wire connector and speedo cable. Takes about five minutes. OR you can leave the column in place and still remove it the same way but you have to be a contortionist to get under neath it and you will scratch the top of your steering column. Replace the circuit card and all bulbs before you put it back.

Unless I have completely lost my mind there is a soft plastic circuit card covering the back of the speedo/tach cluster. All the lights get their power and ground from it. The part where the harness plugs in comes apart with age. Well the whole plastic card does, but that is where both of mine failed.

Yes, in that it brings the post "to the top" of the post listings. Hence, it's the first one people will see see (for a while at least).

Take some fine sand paper and gently clean the contact points on the bulb sockets and the circuit "board". If that doesn't work test the circuit board to ensure there isn't a hairline split somewhere. They are not durable.
