I took off my console to restore it today and foud a white wire with a connector end on it not attached to anything. I took my circuit tester to it and found that it is a live wire without the keys in the ignition. When getting to it before testing of course it touched the metal where there was a ground connection and my interior lights came on (the door was open this whole time). I looked everywhere for a matching negative connector or something to connect the white wire to and there was nothing obvious.
I don't want to put the console back on until I figure this out. Any assistance is appreciated. I searched the forum and my chilton book with no success.
I am not talking about the instrument cluster. I am referring to the console that surrounds the automatic shifter. I disconnected the cig lighter and the bulb before starting. This white wire was not related to either of these.
