They sale some stuff at Auto Zone for headlights that is suspose to clear up cloudiness and fine scratches. You might try to buff that on there and see what that does.
Mine was the same & I just used some Duraglit (cotton wadding with fine abrasive) to polish it back up. Took ages to do (in front of the TV) so something a bit more abrasive would have been a lot quicker. Just needed to paint the edging black after I'd finished polishing.
