Well, I'm a few weeks into the restoration of my 71 coupe and so far so good, things are going pretty much as planned.
What I have found amazing though is the amount of time and research needed to order and buy all the replacement and upgrade parts I need... Nevermind the planning needed to ensure the neccessary parts are on hand when needed - it's no fun sitting around waiting for the UPS truck!
I wouldn't have guessed I would be putting in just as much time buying and researching parts as I do working on the car! I just hope my bank account can handle it!

What cracks me up is some of these guys on TV who say it took them 2 years to restore their Camaro. Heck, it took me 2.5 years to build my engine alone.

I'll be retired by the time I finish my car.
especially when it takes 2 weeks to run a compression test.
I have a folder that I stuff all the receipts in for the parts I've bought or ordered for my car. I've never had the courage to add all of them up. I think I may just burn it when I get the car "finished" and enjoy the driving. Probably best not to know how many $ I have in it.

Bwaa - ha - ha - ha - ha - ha - ha....
Maine Vette: - You are right. There is a huge amount of time spent researching the parts. Right now I've spent two or more weeks just looking for a spacer for the pulley on my crankshaft...
