Hello,
It looks like there were 46,774 1978 corvettes made.
Of those, 36,931 had power windows ( 79%) . So it is possible that you have a manual window 78. The place for the manual crank would be the same for the 78 then as the earlier models, and the position that it is in is the stock location. So yes it would make the door pocket non functional.

For the tilt/tele steering column, 37,858 1978 models had this option.(81%). I dont know about the steering wheel though. The one you have looks like a Camaro or a Vega wheel. I thought the 78 models had a 3 spoke wheel design with a brushed aluminum finish.

Base Corvette Sport Coupe 40,274
Limited Edition Pace Car 6,502

Power Windows 36,931
Tilt-Telescopic Steering Column 37,858

(I dont know about the steering wheel though. The one you have looks like a Camaro or a Vega wheel. I thought the 78 models had a 3 spoke wheel design with a brushed aluminum finish.)

after a little search..

The steering wheel seems stock cause its the same as the assembly
diagram in the detroit manual...and in the dealers pamphelt it says that in comes standard with a 4 spoke steering wheel...
this is one rare car...4,516 sports coupe were ship here in canada in 78...
only 284 in its original color Mahogany...imagine with no power windows no til/telescopique...ouch!
would like to see nother one...?
Thanks
