Default 1971 Window Sticker/Build Sheet

A friend of mine has a 71 roadster-he wishes he had the window sticker or build sheet. I realize the NCM has only back to 81 available. Anybody know of anyone else with data? Believe Pontiac has a third party now offering them back to the 60's for a price.

There are vendors and individuals who will fabricate a replica of these two documents. How accurate they are depends on their accute eye for detail and experience to know the different model year changes to the preprinted language on these documents and if they have access to real ones to get certain information.

Thanks for the help, I will pass it on to him, he has had the car for years and years, probably never dropped the tank to get the original.

Well said.

Having original documents with common options is usually all it takes to weed out the "reproduction" paperwork.

That's correct. Pontiac Historical Service was set up by Jim Mattison who I believe used to work in the GM central office. He has been working on a similar project with Chevrolet vehicles for some time now. The last time I spoke with him (@ May) the project was at a standstill (again) due to differences between Jim and GM management. I am not aware if this issue has been resolved yet.

Tom,

Yes, I sold the 1970 LT-1 and picked up a Machine Silver/Ebony 2006 Z06... Fantastic car!

I hope to take some photos this weekend (the weather has been lousy up here, but supposed to break soon) and email you a few.

Hope things are going well down in SC!

Regards,

Stan Falenski

Paul,

Yeah... I bought a new Corvette... I'm so ashamed...

I don't wish to hijack Jeff's post... I'll post a new topic with a few photos early next week and give a little rundown on what the car is like.

Thanks for the URL!

I went through my Vette and didn't find the build sheet (none on the gas tank, instrument panel, seats). Can't find it anywhere
