I like them very much. Each year we drive up to Monterey on PCH and it is about 7 hour drive with lots of stops. I don't even think about the seats.
.... my ears on the other hand are usually ringing after that drive!
Brfore I installed the C4 seat I post on the C5 forum ask which seats are better, or more comfortable. Many C5 guys also have or have had a C4. Most of them prefer the C4 seats. The only exception is if the person is very big, then the C4 seats are kind of cramped.
So they do hold you in pretty well? I was just out bid on a set. I think I'll post in the C4 section.
I have not really compared them to Recarro or other nice seats, but at the track day I recently went to I felt fairly secure and I only had a lap belt.
Another advantage to buying a Corvette seat as opposed to another brand is that it is easy to have seat covers made in the proper C3 color leather. I got mine from Al Knock and they didn't even charge extra.
Search the forum, there was a guy who recently purchased the seats from some import, I can't remember which one, but they looked really nice.
I have C4 seats (87 Standards in Graphite Leather) in my 1980. They are way more comfortable than the OE buckets, with the added bonus of an adjustable seat back. I am rather wide in the shoulders and back and these seats fit me much better than the stock C3 seats did. I don't move around in the cockpit nearly as much as with the stock seats.

I also have 86 seats in my '78, way more comfortable than the original seats,
From What I have heard, people have cut the ends of the connector off and hard wired the power seats in and it worked fine. Or use your rails you will have to drill a couple of holes in them. I have heard this is not a difficult conversion.

I'm not necessarily interested in having the power option. I'm the only driver and the seat stays put.
I have a set of C4 seats available, but they are "power". I read (in CorvetteFaq) that the "power" seats might be too tall. Question is: Can I convert these "power" seats to manual by changing the rails? I don't want to end up with a set of seats I can't use.
I have not heard the seats being to tall. If so, just leave the T-tops off.
I have a 'vert, so headroom isn't a problem. I would like to avoid a "too-tall" look, though. From pics I've seen, C5 seats look out of proportion in a C3. Trying to avoid that issue.
