I found a 25th anniv that is all apart under the hood. THe price was right so we are buying it. Is the option sheet in the glove box on this one like our 1980?
Any red flags on this year that are different from the 1980?
With the addition we are now a 3 Vette Family!
But help me understand the reasoning. I can see owning different generations, but why would someone want multiple C3s? I've asked this on other boards where I am or have been a member. I have one 1st gen Celica, but there are people on that board with 5 or more. I used to have a DSM (AWD Eagle Talon), and there were people with multiples of basically the same car. Jeepers often have multiple models, which I understand, but not a lot of "I bought my 4th wrangler" people that I know. It seems people buy a car, love it, then get tunnel vision and forget all the other great cars out there. About the only rules I have when it comes to buying a vehicle are no FWD and it must have some sort of fun factor.
I have an '81 Vette, and would consider buying a C2/4/5/6, but I can't imagine buying a '78 for example. Instead of the other C3 I'd spend the money fixing up what I have or buying a completely different kind of car. Maybe I'd buy an early C3 big block, but it would be a trade and I'd put the '81 up for sale.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with collecting C3s, I just don't "get" why someone would buy multiples of the same basic car when there are so many other fun and different types of cars to choose from. I no longer have my Talon (modified), but if you've never owned or driven a small turbo charged AWD car you're really missing out on a lot of fun by buying another copy of what you already have. "You" referring to people in general, not specifically SEECARR.
I do it because I have experience working on the C3's. You know what goes wrong and know how to fix it. I have a 74 that is presently for sale and a 69 BB, which is my keeper.
The 1980 is being done full house modified the new toy will be stock. The 50th anniversery is my wifes toy. Also I like the older ones.
"I can not afford new cars, must drive old ones"
In my case,I have owned the 78 over 26 years,,got interested in getting a BB,and this 69 came along...so I have two distinctly different C3's...one stock/original..and the other simply a real "go" car...and I'm not kidding on the "go" part...
I also give you on your new purchase, I was the same a few months ago, I have a '78 modded, then ran across a good deal on an all original '76, could not pass it up. I am also trying to work out a deal for another '78 but that will take some time.
like Cool427shark states

From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Glad to here you got another one. I am with the guys that can't understand how anyone can buy more than one, unless you are flipping them of course. I have my hands full with one, any mods I want to do on the one I own cost a fortune so there is no way I could own two or more, unless I had a boatload of money then I would probably only buy a C6 as a DD
