Default Gold member veterans! ncrs reissued vin #

Hey guys, I have a 70 w/reissued vin tag by the state of IL., I remember seeing a thread disscussing this issue a while back and can't find it now...But it talked about ncrs not having a problem with reissued vin tags, this tag was reissued before the previous owner bought it back in the mid 80's and I have a clean recently issued title...how big a deal is this......Cliff

I don't know how big an issue this is for market value or for NCRS judging.

For me personally, I would wonder.. do you know what the original vin is/was? I would want to know out of curiousity to know when the car was made, if the trim tag fits in timewise, and if there are any other parts that have the vin derivative on them, like the engine, trans or frame.

A state issued VIN is no problem for NCRS judging. Very clearly spelled out in the regulations and rules.

Cars with NO vin tag don't make it onto the judging field, and cars with bogus trim tags can't make top flight.

I don't buy that, cause I'm doing a frame off on the car, and it was all original #'s matching there too... I think the car may have been a theft recovery back in the 70's or something like that....Cliff
