Default Great Conversation with Crane Tech Rep Today!

Herb: I'm looking at the 119661 cam for my 383 in a vette...how well does this cam cruise in OD say just below 2000rpm?

Tech: Why the hell do you want to cruise below 2000rpm?

Herb: Because with my 3.08 rear, at 70mph, thats what i would give with a 5 speed.

Tech: Thats why i hate vette guys..your lucky i'm not hanging up on you..Why the f* do you care about "cruising"...you got a vette, fing* drive it...so to answer your question, no, its not going to cruise below that, so get off your cheap *** and get you some rear gears...sheesh..vette guys...i hate vette guys...you know what i do to vette guys when i see them "cruise".....i swurve towards them...make them nervous..make them sweat.....

Herb: Laughing my ***** off!! So what about one step down on cam? would that be better?

Tech: You cheap bastard, get some gears..You got a Fing* 383, put a real cam in it, quit worrying about cruising, and drive the mother-fer*

Herb: Laughing my ***** off some more. you must drive Ford??

Tech: F* NO! I'd rather drive a Dodge... but you vette guys crack me up...go with the 61 cam and fugeda about it.

Herb: I'll probably go with the 61 cam then...

This phone conversation was verbatim, the guy was dead serious, and it made my day

3.70 gears works very well with the Tremec. I cruise at 2200 to 2400 rpm. 70 to 80 mph.

I know Gkull has been trying to beat this in me...but maybe it took some stern cussing to get me to listen! Yes, George, you were right.
