Default CArb number decoding Help

Can anyone tell me what the following means:

"L1 FF"

This is found under the casting number 7042217 on my 72BB.

You have a Rochester carburetor made by Carter. The L is December the one is 71 the FF is the broadcast code. If your 72 was built after Dec 3rd 71 it is a good chance it is the original carb.

Hey ..

The carb was built during the month of November 1971 (L1), this is correct for a car produced through late march 1972, maybe very early April 1972. The April run would more than likely be M1 (December 71).
