I used Capt'n Lee's as well. The stuff worked great!! Just put cardboard down where you're working so you don't stain your garage floor. I used a bondo spreader to wipe off the goo into a disposable paint bucket. Then wiped the panel down with lacquer thinner to remove the residue. I had the whole car done in a weekend. Only had to remove 2 coats of paint, though.
Hey Butch,
What did it do to the filler in the seams?
vic
Hello Vic,
Didn't touch the bonding strips, I used the evercoat bonding glaze to spot touch ups and resin and glass with the rear valance joints and bigger repairs. (I went with header sidepipes) The evercoat sands well and is very easy to work. Also used a tear away mixing board (does this save time)
It seems that everyone agrees that this is the way to go........as I stated it worked for me
I used spra strip from MidAmerica... This stuff works great, spray it on
let it soak a few minutes and I used a plastic putty knife to remove it,
also carry a small box with you to wipe off the old paint. My 9 year old son and I did it in one weekend.... we had a ball and I saved about $700.00 for media blasting. Just wear the right eye protection and rubber gloves. Oh by the way I used 2 gallons of the product.
Good luck
Butch
I used this as well, works fine and used a soft bristle brush with the water to ensure that I deactivated it completely. Its good stuff.
