Default pillar post handle

anyone ever think of adding a handle to the passenger's pillar post like the one on the doorpanel? there's really nothing to grab onto in the car for the passenger.

I just put new pillar posts in my 71. I don't think they have the strength that it would need to pull up on. Mine are held in by like 3 screws and velcrow tabs.
