I don't really notice a big differance. But having said that I had the stock springs in all the way up to my rear suspension rebuild. If you had seen and felt the way my rear suspension was responding to cornering then you would not have driven the car hard at all. It was a death trap. I put the 550's in when I rebuilt the rear (I did the front about 3 years ago). I also put a VBP composite spring in the rear. I love the way my suspension reacts now. If your car is not a daily driver I say go for the 550's. I know that modern technology has caught up and passed our old stuff. I can just imagine back in 1963 when this suspension first came out on Corvettes how much better it was than the old land boats of the day. I like the way these cars handle.
I had the 460s in mine. I went to the 550s to lower it and provide a stiffer ride. I did not notice any difference from the 460s to the 550s. It is stiffer than stock for sure but not to bad.
