Krylon silver leafing pen
Putting a stock radio back in the 79. Found a very nice AM/FM Cassette but the "chrome" trim around the face was a little worn. Found the "silver leafing pen" by Krylon at my local arts and crafts place. Darned if I can tell a difference from original and redone with the pen. Looks great. Could probably use it on the later C3 console and center bezel trim, too. Best of all it's paint, not ink. Thought I'd just mention it.

Just ink, maybe if I let it dry longer but I doubt it. The Krylon pen is paint in a magic marker type holder, broad tip. $5. Rubbed the finish with a rag and it held up nicely.

Melting Slicks
about 15 years ago I did that to my 1978 Camaro with a silver "paint pen" I found in the model car section at wal-mart. Made by the "Testors" company I believe.
It worked really great on the Camaro script on the glove box.

i posted this info about a yr. ago when i redid all my gauges with auto meters and ruined the chrome on my shifter plate. its still a great tip for this type of touchup. and to all you modelers out there that use a brush to paint chrome trim on models.... this same pen will do it perfectly in about 30 seconds

Did they have any other colors? I am trying to black out the round holes in my crager rims, which have oxidized badly. The chrome is pretty much gone. If this works good in a small area, have u tried it on a larger area, say the size of a quarter? How does it look??
