Default Heater fan motor

Need some help. Anybody change a heater fan lately? I have a 71 coupe with A/C. Bought the car with the heater and A/C wire bundles disconnected. Now that it's cold, I've hooked up the wires and ..... no joy. I've even applied 12 volts DC direct to the terminal (properly grounded I believe) and still no fan blowing. Are they tough to change? Looks like the whole A/C and heater is a massive boxed assembly. Any easy way to just get the blower motor out?

NO THERE E/Z TO CHANGE i have a a/c car (73) and have done it a few times even upgraded it the last time to the bigger fan motor (bravo blower motor from carquest) and the deeper squirrell cage ,a spacer has to be made for the squirrell cage is 1 1/2 '' deeper so it must be shimmed out ,first take off the coolant tank,,then you can get all the 8 or so hex head bolts off. a grd wire and the hot jack and it should come off
