Default '79 Wiper Module.

Can anyone help??!! ...my wipers have stopped working (since i took my dash out...though im not sure if that was the cause or not ) ... i think the trouble may be something to do with the wiper module (mine's under the centre console).
When i turn the ignition on, the relay in the module clicks...though i'm sure it only used to click when i switched on the wipers?? ...i've taken the lid off the relay and held the contact down, and presto! the wipers work ok (apart from the delay function..but first things first!)

Anyway.... could someone please let me know if this relay is supposed to click when you switch the ignition on (with wiper switch off) ...or only click when you turn the wipers on ??

... i know this sounds like a stupid question..but it'll help me to find out if my module's working properly, or if i maybe have a short somewhere

thanks guys

Not sure that the relay should click mine does not about $10 to replace.
Also if your intermittent wiper function isn't working be prepared to shell out the big bucks.
There is a control module located under the plastic storage tray behind the passenger side seat and that controls the intermittent function and if it's bad and if you can find one they are BIG BUCKS!!! $350 and higher.
www.lectriclimited.com has a bypass jumper for around $15 that will allow your wipers to work but only in the slow and fast speeds.
