I just had a lot of stuff done and my plater said never to use anything but Windex. Since it's all still new it all looks good.

I have 2 harleys and the vette. I used to use Mothers. Then I switched to Meguiar's. Since I got the Torq Thrust II wheels on the vette, I've needed something that would clean the chrome and the polished aluminum. Try SIMICHROME Polish. Best stuff in the world. A little dab will dooya. Most of the better custom wheel shops carry it or know who does. It's a little hard to find. I'd rather fight than switch again

I bought "World's easiest metal polish" from Satingloss, one bottle is $20, not cheap but it works great
I bought it on sale (a dozen bottles for $100) ... that's enough for the next 60 or more years

Simichrome... and Wenol, (red or blue), when I can't find Simichrome. They are very similar, but I do prefer the Simichrome. Both do an outstanding job and don't take a lot. I have used them by hand or with a buffer.

I too found it years ago at a Harley shop... that's the first place I look, but now I have to wear a disguise...

ZOOP? Eastwood makes a product for sealing polished aluminum and chrome that's called "ZOOP." Their advertisements make it sound like it's something you really need to try, but It sells for a few dollars less than $100. I'm a little reluctrant to try something unknown at that price. Has anyone tried it?

Windex is good for everything. It'll clean glass, chrome...Shoot, it even helps remove pains from joints and helps wipe out zits!

(Watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding and you'll understand.)

I like Autosol and Meguiar's NXT Metal Polysh for polishing aluminum/chrome...works well!

I use X-treem Metal Polish. It works great on chrome and aluminum, from my experience. Found some local hot rodders using it. And it's Made in the U.S.A.

Didn't know they sell it here in the US, never seen it in stores...
I've used this chrome polish since the late 80's on everything... my bicycle rims, my motorbikes and cars, even removed rust from chrome bumpers with this polish. This polish is simply awesome, a little agressive maybe.... $9 for a tube is a lot. Last time I bought a tube (about 5 years ago in Germany) I paid $1.50 or so....

Autosol's good stuff, and a little bit of it goes a long way. If I could just teach that to my dad, we might actually have this stuff around for a while in the garage!
