Quadra-Jet / Epoxy ??
I will attempt to include a picture of a similar carb / My 72 base Coupe runs fantastic and has had the timing / carb / advance set according to all the "good stuff" as posted on the forum. It still idles TOO RICH no matter what. I have heard to EPOXY 'something" on the underside of the carb.
Can someone identify the "spots" on the included pic that need to be sealed with epoxy ?
In the photo above the well plugs are the four red dots at the top. The plug to the left (accelerator pump well) leaks sometimes as does the fuel inlet plug at the bottom of the picture. It's a good idea to do them all while your doing. These are plugs with soft metal peened into the seams. They plug access holes used for drilling passages when the carburetor was manufactured.
By the way, if you're going to be working on this carburetor you really need one of these.

Before you bother with the epoxy, remove the carb from the engine, fill the float bowl with fuel, and set the carb up on some spacers on your workbench. See if fuel drips out of any of the spots identified by BigBlock. If nothing drips, there is no need to epoxy. It's actually rare that the Q-Jet will leak - the leaky plug thing is a bit over-rated. So check it before you spend the time doing it - I'll bet you'll find no leaks...
