Won't Start !!

Turned the key to the first position all lights, fans work. 2nd position
( to turn it over) and everything stops, doesn't turn over, no nuthin!
It was runnin great

where to start ?

Check your main harness connection at firewall...mine did that and was corroded..just cleaned it and the turkey fired right up...

Thanks for the replies guys, sorry for the newb questions, I've got 12 volts on the starter side of the harness and down at the starter, grounds seem ok. Could a starter ( 25 year old delco) just go out with no warning?

about 2 months ago my ac delco starter died, not a single warning, push started it to get her home and put a replacement in, started right up.

Not to be a smart azz but make sure the car is in Park or in Neutral. I was at a gas station and a guy came over and asked me if I had jumper cables and could help him. I went over to help him out and he tried it and nothing. I asked him to pull it down in drive and put it back in park. Viola`, the car started.

Just a thought.

Maybe a bad battery cable...negative side.

Check it where it attaches to the frame.

Mine was triple the size from corrosion.

Try it...good luck.
