BFG recently came out with a new tire, the G force Sport. Nice directional tread, not too aggresive, and not expensive, treadwear is around 360. You can get them at your local Costco through their special order program, only takes a couple of days to get.
The tricky part is getting a front and rear tire in the sizes you want, in the same design/make.
When I was running 17's on the rear I found Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals had a 255/45 for the front and a 285/40/17 for the rear, which looked good. Tire rack is a good place to punch in the sizes you want and then check out the specs.
I've been real happy with Bridgestone Potenza RE730's. When the time comes to renew my rubber, I'll probably put on the RE750's. Try 245/45-17 on front and 275/40-17 rear. Both sizes are the same height.

This is what I just ordered for my TT2. But for me it is 255/45/17 all around. No experience with them on the road yet but they seem to be a good tire for the $$$.
