A correct 1975 rear bumper has the spaces for the letters recessed into the the bumper already if I am not mistaken. The letters have little prongs that fit inside little holes in the recesses. If you do not have these recesses, then the bumper is not correct and it will be difficult to attach the letters. You'll have to file down the prongs and line them up just right. This is not uncommon as most of these bumpers are aftermarket replacements. What most people do in this situation is use an emblem from a 76 or 77. It is a one piece and you can stick on without any problems.

By the way, I'm assuming you're referring to the CORVETTE letters on the bumper.

Are you planning to paint the emblem onto the rear bumper?

I have the same problem. My 1975 has a replacement rear bumper. it was replaced with the wrong one so I do not have the recesses. My rear bumper is blank/ devoid of emblem because I've been stewing over what to do. I've almost convinced myself that the easiest thing would be to stick a 1976 emblem on there but any enthusiast worth their salt would know right away that there were no convertibles in 76 or later. This has been a source of heartburn for me for quite some time.

Absolutely. You can find several different brands of replacement OEM spec bumpers. Try somelace like MidAmerica or Eckler's.

I am working on that issue at this time. I ordered a trueflex bumper for my 75. I did not fit well at all and it will not flex. I sent it back to Ecklers and ordered the urethane. The urethane fits very well. I also have the problem of making the indentations in the new bumper. I have just made a template of the letters out of 1/8 inch thick by 2inch wide by 18 inches long aluminum from Home Depot. I will also be making a separate template out of the same stock for the pattern of the holes that the letters fit into. I can possibly scan the letter template and create a digital file you can use by printing it out on heavyweight paper. My e-mail is stevemona@***.net

Yes. It was a flex fit from Ecklers.
